July 2013

Welcome to the July 2013 edition of AAWS Animal Welfare Photo of the Month.

Participation is open to the public - to submit your photo to the AAWS Photo of the Month, please read our entry guidelines here.

The best photos each month will be displayed here on the AAWS website and on our Twitter account.

The AAWS July Photo of the Month has been contributed by Antonietta Gentile in Melbourne.

She says 'Shirley' came to her via Second Chance Animal Rescue as a very sick little girl.  She weighed just 377grams and suffering from a diarrhoea when Antonietta became her foster carer. Shirley had been separated from her siblings and had to be nursed back to health.

"It didn't take the family very long to realise that ShirleyB is one special kitty and is now our pet. She has been a pet therapy visitor at Hope Aged care since February this year and is one of the most popular visitors."

This picture of Shirley with Olive Rogneda and Liliana Mazzocchetti was taken at Hope Aged Care by Josie Hayden of the Moreland Leader newspaper.
